The “present”
I sometimes get
fascinated about words which have two different meanings and even wonder, “Was
it intentionally kept or is it coincidental??” Well. One such words, that
caught my attention recently is “present”.
There is a
particularly significant reason why I thought about this word.
It was after the
sudden demise of an uncle of mine, who was stung by his home grown bees. Little
would he have thought that such a thing would happen to him. But still it did.
This can happen to
anyone. Me, you or anyone. No one knows what tomorrow or the next second has in
store for us. All we know and have is our “present”, like a “present” in our
hands, ready to be opened and enjoyed.
After this, the
following message made complete sense to me.
"Love deeply.
Forgive quickly.
Take chances.”
Apologise for your mistakes, quickly.
Do everything without any regrets.
Yes. Our life is
what we make out of the present, for we don’t know if we are going to be alive
the next minute. So, as said by a wonderful writer, “live life king-size”, every moment you are alive.
