Just remember

This time, I am writing on the most disturbing issue to me, only next to the pollution of the environment, which has inspired me to write this post.
I am a girl, born in a well-to-do family. I am fortunate to be one among the educated lot. As an educated individual, I have aspirations. I have dreams, as any other boy or girl in this world.

But, you know something? Very few girls get to live their dreams. I am NOT speaking about the very many dreams of getting married to a handsome guy or enjoying the day going to parties. I am talking about the dream, when realised, has an impact on the society as a whole. That dream that can change the way the society is and not just the family and its members.

I ask a question to the reader. “Will you allow your sister, your mother, your daughter or especially your spouse to realise such a dream?” The rule is, “your answer “must” be from your heart”.
If your reply is from the bottom of your heart, I can very well predict your answer, which will most likely be, “No. Why should I let the lady from “my” home be the Jansi Rani on the streets? Let it be someone else’s. I want to safeguard her from the world, as she was born on earth just to be in the home, cook and look beautiful.”(??!!) Is that your reply?
If it is, behold me reader, you are amputating the nation. Absolutely!! No doubt. And don’t even try to talk about women empowerment or the nation’s backlog in the GDP.

(But, if it is not, I am very happy. You are one among the very few who think in the better way. The healthy way.)
“Behind every successful man is a woman”, goes the saying. Yes, women need men for protection, care and support. Neither of them can live without the other. But, point is, when will these women come to the foreground? Will she have to finish her tenure on earth staying in the back screens, leaving the outer world the impression that women are worth to just stay back and bask in the success of her other half??

Put yourself in her place and react!!
As an end note, I put a small request to the reader.

To “just remember” that the girl in your life has dreams, as strong as yours or even stronger, before you neglect it in the very initial stage, as any other old newspaper.
To “just remember” that she is also a human being with the same brain, which works as yours or even sharper, before mindlessly shooing her suggestions off.
To “just remember” she too has the capacity to manage people and work in the office as you do or even better, before ignoring her enthusiasm to offer you a helping hand in the family’s income.
To “just remember” she needs support from you and no one else for her happiness, as she too needs to be happy, the basic right to every human being.

Folks!! Don’t forget to “just remember” these, after all, she is your dear mom, sis, daughter or wife, whose happiness is yours.
